This month, we’re excited to share two neighboring East African coffees in the Siemasu Club Box—one from Rwanda and the other from Burundi. Both are Red Bourbon varieties, processed through the natural anaerobic method, yet they reveal strikingly different expressions of terroir.
From the high-altitude hills of Nyabihu in Rwanda comes a bold cup bursting with tropical fruit sweetness, juicy berry notes, and a delicate floral lift. Just across the border in Ngozi, Burundi, offers a contrasting profile with plum-like sweetness, vivid hibiscus acidity, and a smooth fig finish.
Together, these coffees invite us to explore the subtle distinctions of origin and processing, showing how two neighboring countries can craft uniquely captivating expressions of Red Bourbon.
This is the sweet spot where we typically brew our coffee. With more developed flavors and reduced gas buildup, we use a standard V60 approach, adjusting the grind slightly coarser than a typical filter brew.
- Coffee: 20g ( coarser than standard filter grind - 30 clicks on comandante)
- Water: 300g, TDS 50-100ppm, 93°C
Pouring structure:
- 0:00 – Pour to 60g
- 0:45 – Pour to 150g
- 1:30 – Pour to 300g

The payment is handled via a monthly invoice sent by email. Which, you’ll receive at the beginning of each month, making membership management simple and hassle-free.
Cancel your club membership- You can cancel your membership at any time by sending an email to hello@siemasu.coffee with the subject title 'Siemasu Club Cancellation' and your contact information in the message field. The cancellation must happen the before the end of the month so that we have time to cancel or pause your membership.
