Kenya AA Plus Kiamaina – This bright and juicy coffee comes from the Kiamaina washing station, located in the heart of Kenya’s Nyeri region, at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Cultivated at elevations of 1,600 to 1,800 meters above sea level, the high altitude, cool nights, and rich volcanic soils create ideal growing conditions for producing complex, high-quality coffees.

This lot is processed using the fully washed method, which accentuates the coffee’s crisp acidity and clean flavor profile. After careful handpicking, the ripe cherries are depulped and fermented to remove mucilage, followed by thorough washing in clean mountain water. The beans are then dried slowly on raised beds under the sun, ensuring optimal moisture content and flavor clarity.

The result is a vibrant and refreshing cup with tropical mango sweetness, grapefruit-like acidity, and a lingering red currant aftertaste—a lively, fruit-forward coffee that perfectly captures the character of Kenyan terroir.

    HISTORY:

The Kiamaina washing station is part of the Baragwi Farmers Cooperative Society, a network that connects hundreds of smallholder farmers across Nyeri, Kenya’s premier coffee-growing region. Known for its volcanic soil and cool climate, Nyeri has long been celebrated for producing some of the most distinctive coffees in East Africa.

Farmers in the Kiamaina area have cultivated coffee for generations, working small plots of land with meticulous care. Their cherries are brought to the station where the cooperative’s skilled team manages the processing, ensuring consistency and quality across every lot. By focusing on traceability, sustainability, and quality control, Kiamaina has established itself as a reliable source for top-grade Kenyan coffees.

Each harvest embodies both tradition and innovation, producing coffees that showcase Kenya’s globally renowned brightness, fruit-forward flavors, and juicy structure.
